Obituary–Barbara Doman (Borika)
Barbara Doman (Borika) passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital on March 1, 2010. She earned her teacher’s diploma in Hungary and worked for several years in Szecseny, her native town. Later, in Montreal, she taught and inspired countless students at the Hungarian Saturday School. She has been, for the last forty years, a committed and benevolent member of the Montreal Hungarian community who will be forever grateful for her contributions. She is mourned by her cousins and other relatives in Hungary. She will be deeply missed by the many members of the Montreal Hungarian community whose lives she has touched with her kindness and generous heart.
Friends of Barbara would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful nurses and doctors of St. Mary’s Hospital, where Barbara not only spent her last days on this earth, but as an employee with thirty years of loyal service. A prayer celebration will take place at Blythe Bernier Funeral Home (940 Ogilvy) on March 12, 2010 from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on March 13, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Hungary Church (90 Guizot). Following laying to rest at the cemetery, a reception will be held at the Parish Hall on Guizot. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hungarian School of Montreal (90 Guizot) would be greatly appreciated.
