Bokréta hosts Hungarian folklore dance workshop in Montreal
The Hungarian folklore ensemble Bokréta is preparing for the 2009 Hungarian Winter Workshop (Eleki Népi Buli) in Montréal, on February 13-14-15, 2009. The event will feature the music and dances of the village of Elek (Aletea) in Hungary, including performances by Gémesi Zoli, Gázsa, Hrúz Szabolcs (Dűvő) and our own Magyar Öcsi and Medve (also known as Krasznai Attila from Gyanta). A cafeteria and a low-priced bar will be open during the workshop. Please note that all proceeds from the bar will go towards the guests’ expenses. The event’s organizers ask that you do not bring you own beer. The registration fee for the workshop stands at C$100.00 or US$85.00 and the Sunday night concert and Táncház at the Kola Note is priced at C$15.00 or US$12.00. Full reimbursements are offered in the event of a cancellation, minus a C$5.00 cheque fee. The workshop will take place in the Montreal Island municipality of Lachine, at the College Sainte-Anne de Lachine (70, 15E Avenue). The Kola Note concert, which includes live folk music from Hungary and Romania, will be held at 5240 avenue du Parc, in Montreal.
